New Songs Come From A Place Of Sorrow, But That Road Made Things Better Today

This week, “Tin Man”, Miranda’s latest single, is following a path towards country’s top 25, just as Dorothy and Toto followed the Yellow Brick Road to find The Wizard of Oz.

Miranda, a six-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, can no longer hide the fact that her divorce with Blake Shelton inspired her to re-check those classic characters from the iconic movie starring Judy Garland.

“Whatever influenced you the most, at whatever time in your life, at somewhere or another comes out in your art,” Miranda said and added “The “Tin Man,” I guess, going through a lot of times where I felt pretty empty, I understood a whole new meaning. I mean, how many times have we seen The Wizard of Oz, you know? But it is something that the world shares.”

The track from The Weight of These Wings was written by Miranda together with renowned singer/songwriter Jack Ingram and Jon Randall.

The Texas native said “Everyone knows what the Tin Man represents: cold and empty and loneliness and heartless. And it opened my eyes to it even more while going through all the pain myself which I somehow find as sort of an epiphany.”

Miranda’s said epiphany brought about so many critical acclaims of her being one of the most nominated artists at the upcoming CMA Awards, in the running for the fifth trophy.
